Habitat: 261 acres of Native and Restored Grassland, Oak Savanna, Oak-Hickory Forest, Marsh, Sedge Meadow, and Willow, Alder or Dogwood Swamp. Open Water includes three ponds and the Upper Yahara River along the north boundary.

Best Birds: Sandhill Crane are present and nest in open areas throughout. Check the ponds and river for Belted Kingfisher. Snags in the grassland along the Wood Duck Loop and the east end of the Merganser Loop attract cavity nesters including Red-headed Woodpecker and Northern Flicker. The Oak-Hickory Forest along the Merganser, Wood Duck, and White Oak Loops hold nesting Blue-gray Gnatcatcher and migrant Olive-sided and Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, wood-warblers, and other songbirds.
