Habitat: Restored Bluff Native Prairie (Goat Prairie), Oak-Hickory Forest.

Best Birds:  On the very southern border of the property search above the houses on Cliffwood Drive for Carolina Wren and Orchard Oriole.  Look for Wild Turkey, woodpeckers, and Scarlet Tanager on the hillsides and at the top of the hill.  Watch for Turkey Vulture catching updrafts along the west and south facing bluffs.  In the Oak Woodlands look for Acadian Flycatcher, Cerulean Warbler, Blue-Gnatcatcher, and Pileated Woodpecker.

Directions: 58 miles S of LaCrosse. This Wisconsin DNR State Natural Area is ½ mile north of Prairie du Chien from Cliffwood Drive to Limery Road along and east of State Highway 35. An access trail maintained by the Mississippi Valley Conservatory will cross this new land, starting near fire number 63678 Limery Road.

This 313 acre site was previously surrounded by private property with no access until a recent purchase of adjacent land by the Mississippi Valley Conservatory.
