110th St. at 165th Ave. pond, Chippewa County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Open water, Mudflats, Cropland.

Best Birds: During spring migration look for waterfowl like Greater White-fronted Goose, Ross’s Goose, Green-winged Teal, Gadwall, American Black Duck, Northern Pintail, Ring-necked Duck, Northern Shoveler, Canvasback, Redhead,Lesser Scaup, Hooded Merganser, Bufflehead, Ruddy Duck, and Pied-billed Grebe, and shorebirds including Semipalmated Plover, Semipalmated and Pectoral Sandpiper, Dunlin, Wilson’s Phalarope, Marbled Godwit, Ruddy Turnstone, and Wilson Snipe.

Virginia Rail may be present in the marsh. Also be on the lookout for Ring-necked Pheasant, Wild Turkey, Eurasian Collared-Dove, Sandhill Crane, Black Tern, Common Nighthawk, Merlin, swallows, Cedar Waxwing, Horned Lark, Marsh and Sedge Wren, and Yellow-headed Blackbird.

Directions: 24 miles N of Eau Claire/13.5 miles north of Chippewa Falls. The pond is on 110th Street at the intersection with 165th Ave. 2.5 miles southeast of Bloomer. These ponds are on private property so bird from the roadside only.
