Otter Lake County Park

Otter Lake County Park, Chippewa County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Open Water, Beaches, Marsh.

Best birds: ducks, Common Loon, hawks, flycatchers, vireos, thrushes, finches, sparrows, warblers, blackbirds.

Directions: 43 miles NE of Eau Claire/33 miles northeast of Chippewa Falls. From Stanley take County Highway H north to 165th Avenue, and then about 2.2 miles west to the entrance to the park, (45.09144, -90.95680).

At the southern end of the lake there is a boat landing on 365th St., (45.05209, -90.93386). On the north end there is a landing south of the dam on 170th Ave, (45.08918, -90.95201) and the main boat landing is at the end of an access road west of the park entrance, (45.08744, -90.95544).

Site Address & Additional Information:

Otter Lake is approximately three miles long. The north end has a dam, with a county park on both sides of the road, and a small marsh north of the road. Four boat launches provide access to the lake. Smaller ponds are on the east and south side of the lake.
