Kiel Marsh State Wildlife Area

Habitat: Marsh, Open Water, Bottomland Hardwoods.  

Best Birds: This area is best explored by canoe or kayak, but viewing from the boat landing can also be productive. Expected species include Common Nighthawk, Chimney Swift, Virginia Rail, Sora, Black Tern, Least Bittern, Black-crowned Night Heron, Alder Flycatcher, Willow Flycatcher, Bank Swallow, Marsh Wren, and Swamp Sparrow

Directions: 18 miles NW of Sheboygan. The boat landing is located at the South end of 8th Street in the city of Kiel (43.905809, -88.041981).
