Hartman Prairie

Habitat:  Native and Restored Prairie, Bottomland Hardwoods, Open Water, Marsh.  

Best birds: Great Egret, Eastern Meadowlark, Bobolink, Dickcissel, Sandhill Crane

Directions: Five miles east of I-43 on Eaton Rd / Hwy JJ. One-half mile east of Phillips Road the parking lot is on the south side across the road from a large white farmhouse with a collapsed barn, (44.45844, -87.85516).  Take the path south from the parking area, across a foot-bridge to the prairie. The Baird Creek Preservation Foundation manages the land.

Very good viewing of wide range of butterflies, dragonflies, bees and wasps.
