Alp & County Hwy W Ponds

Habitat: Open Water, Willow-Alder-Dogwood Swamp, and Marsh. 

Best Birds:  This small wetland has excellent shorebird and waterfowl habitat for Trumpeter and Tundra Swan, and Sandhill and Whooping Crane. Snowy Owl, Northern Shrike are possible in winter. 

Directions: 63 miles S of Wausau/ nine miles northwest of Plainfield. Park along the shoulder of County Hwy W and scan west just past the intersection with Alp Ave.
