Winnebago Audubon: Big Day Birding at Asylum Pt./Picnic Pt.
Saturday, October 09, 2021 08:00am 11:00am

Join us on eBird’s October Big Day (Global Bird Weekend and World Migratory Bird Day) to count birds and report our observations to eBird. Everyone is welcome, beginning birders to experienced birders.

Asylum Point Park/Picnic Point Wildlife Refuge (The Carp Pond) is about 170 acres of grassland, brush, woods, and marsh on the shores of Lake Winnebago. We hope to observe migrants such as waterbirds, kinglets, thrushes, sparrows, and warblers. Depending on the weather and winds we could have a good hawk migration, which is always exciting. Come and experience the fun and wonder of migration.

Please dress for the weather and bring your binoculars. This event is free and open to the public.

Directions: From Oshkosh take Bowen Street (CTH-A) north to East Snell Road.  Turn right on East Snell Road to the T intersection with Sherman Road. We will meet in the parking area at this intersection.
