UW-Milwaukee student Erica Gerloski will share recent research collected on the Ovenbird from Riveredge Nature Center and provide an update on campus bird collision data from UWM.
This meeting we will host Bird Club member and University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee conservation and environmental science student, Erica Gerloski. Over the summer, Erica was the Ornithology Research Assistant at Riveredge Nature Center studying the Ovenbird and she will share her findings. She will also speak about her records of where birds die on campus and provide information that other researchers are using to reduce bird collisions with buildings. Erica and her UWM team are working on a quick building assessment tool for bird collision risk with Milwaukee County Parks. We will have a small holiday party following the presentation – feel free to bring a snack to share. Bird Club is co-presented with Milwaukee Audubon Society.
