Goose Pond is a mecca for migrating waterfowl. Catch a glimpse of this incredible phenomenon as swans, geese, and ducks of all sorts pack into this prairie pothole by the hundreds or even thousands. This is a great opportunity to #BirdYourWorld during 2018’s Year of the Bird!

We will have spotting scopes set up along the north side of Prairie Lane, viewing the pond from the south. Please park along the south side of Prairie Lane. Bring very warm clothes, binoculars if you have them, and bird identification guides. Our staff and volunteers will help you get great views of birds and teach you about their ecology.

When you’re finished, take some time to visit Wingspan, the new ADA-accessible observation platform just across Prairie Lane.
