Rush Lake

Habitat: Over 3,000 acres of Marsh and Open Water.

Best Birds: The lake is best known for its nesting Red-necked Grebe. Search the lake for grebes, waterfowl, Redhead, Ruddy Duck, Virginia Rail, Common Gallinule, American Coot, Black Tern, Forster’s Tern, Least Bittern, American Bittern, egrets, Black-crowned Night-Heron, and Yellow-headed Blackbird

Directions:  Located 12 miles southwest of Oshkosh off County M. Enter the East Boat Landing parking lot (43.94595, -88.77502), then drive across the bridge to the landing. A second access is the North Boat Landing parking lot on Osborne Road (43.958331, -88.784925). Public access to the lake is limited. Both landings offer access and limited views of the lake. Eastern units of Rush Lake State Natural Area can be reached north of Radtke Road and west of Island Road  (43.90225, -88.78635). The SNA also straddles Mountain Road (43.92055, -88.76502).
