Habitat: Southern Hardwood Forest. Pine Plantation, Open Water, Restored Native Grassland.
Best Birds: Lac Lawrann Conservancy is populated by birds typically found in southern Wisconsin forests and wetlands, including Pileated Woodpecker, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Wood Thrush, and Scarlet Tanager. Also possible are Yellow-billed Cuckoo, American Woodcock, Barred and Great Horned Owl, Acadian Flycatcher (rare), Tufted Titmouse (uncommon), and Yellow-throated Vireo. Belted Kingfisher, Marsh Wren (uncommon), and Swamp Sparrow inhabit the wetlands. Sandhill Crane, Willow Flycatcher (uncommon), Eastern Bluebird, and Field Sparrow can be observed in the prairie portions of the property.
Directions: 43 miles NW of Miulwaukee. Located in the city of West Bend, one mile north of State Hwy 33 on Schmidt Road.

Lac Lawrann Conservancy is a 145 acre nature preserve contiguous with the 25 acre Royal Oaks Park. The property has 4.5 miles of trails crisscrossing 125 acres of upland and lowland hardwood forest, a Red Pine plantation in process of conversion into a seven acre oak-savannah habitat, Rainbow Lake, two large ponds, wetlands, and restored native grassland prairie. The overall topography typifies a Kettle Moraine landscape replete with glacial features and kettle ponds.

The Lac Lawrann Conservancy is open 365 days a year from dawn to dusk. No fees are required to use the trails.
