Natureland Park

Habitat: Oak Woodland, Restored Prairie, Wetland, and Open Water.

Best Birds: Year round residents in the woods include a variety of woodpeckers and Tufted Titmouse. Summer visitors include Acadian Flycatcher, and Yellow-throated Vireo. Overlooking the lake just off the main parking lot provides a view of an island rookery where numerous Great Blue Heron and Great Egret nest.

Directions: 51 miles SE of Madison/7 miles south of Whitewater. Parking area on north side of Territorial road. The Trail of Many Terrains is an easy hike that allows you to experience the variety of the park. (42.743059, -88.715235)

The park offers over 3 miles of trails on 122 acres along the shore of Whitewater Lake.
