Chippewa and Flambeau Rivers Confluence

Habitat: Open Water, Bottomland Hardwoods.

Best Birds: Migrant and resident waterfowl include Common Goldeneye, Bufflehead, and Common and Hooded Merganser.

Directions: 44 miles NE of Eau Claire/18 miles southwest of Ladysmith. Take County Road D or County E to the confluence. During the spring thaw, drive along the banks of the Flambeau River to its confluence with the Chippewa River, then proceed upstream along the Chippewa until it veers away from the road.
