Case Eagle Park

https://ebird.org/hotspot/L525515

Habitat: 239 acres of Oak-Hickory Forest. Successional Oldfield, and Open Water.

Best Birds: Watch for Bald Eagle, Belted Kingfisher, and Osprey flying along the river corridor.  Forest species include Yellow-Throated Vireo. The grassland section along the river is where to see Field Sparrow.

Directions: 31 miles SW of Milwaukee, and just south of the city of Rochester, on South Rochester Street.  A paved driveway takes you to a parking lot, 42.73577, -88.22470. Case Eagle has a portion of the paved Seven Waters trail running through it, including a bridge over the Fox River.  Unmarked hiking trails wind through the forest, and to an isolated grassland along the river.  The Dam & canoe landing area near the parking lot is a good place to start.  The unmarked, but well-worn forest hiking trail starts just south of the Dam between the paved trail and river.
