Lake DuBay

Habitat: Mixed Coniferous Forest, Open Water, Bottomland Hardwood Forest, Pine Plantation.

Best Birds: Scanning the lake can produce a wide variety of swans, ducks like scoters and Long-tailed, grebes, loons, gulls, terns, and raptors. Bald Eagle are normally present above and below the dam. Exploring the pines and bottomland forest along the dike can yield Ruffed Grouse, Great Crested Flycatcher, vireos, Veery, Wood Thrush, finches including Red Crossbill, sparrows, Blue-winged Warbler, Chestnut-sided Warbler, and Pine Warbler. Lapland Longspur and Snow Bunting are normally present in the appropriate seasons.

Directions: Lake DuBay is located 12 miles north of Stevens Point. Dam Rd can be reached by taking County E north of Old Highway 10 just before County E makes a sharp curve to the west. Two parking areas are just south and west of the dam (44.663973, -89.651859). Another parking area that accesses the dike is located on County E 0.75 miles north of Dam Rd. (44.655194, -89.673596)
