Bearskin Trail (Oneida Co.), Oneida County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot
Habitat: Open Water, Alder and WIllow Swamp, Marsh, Hemlock-Hardwood Forest, Conifer Bog.
Best Birds: In late spring and summer a variety of north-woods birds can be seen along this trail. Waterbirds that are commonly found are Common Loon, Bald Eagle, Osprey, Hooded and Common Merganser and Wood Duck. Breeding warblers that are found on the trail are Ovenbird, Black and White, Nashville, Northern Parula, Yellow, Chestnut-sided, Golden-winged, Yellow-rumped, Pine and Black Throated Green. Other passerines seen here are Brewers Blackbird, Hermit Thrush, Alder Flycatcher, Winter Wren, Blue-headed Vireo, Pine Siskin and Lincoln’s Sparrow.
Directions: 69 miles N of Wausau. In the city of Minocqua, park behind the Post Office on Lakeshore Drive for the north trailhead. The south trailhead is 0.7 miles east of the intersection of Hwy 51 and County Rd K. Midway on this 21 mile long trail is the South Blue Lake rest area where there is drinking water and restrooms. The trail is graded, smooth and hard packed and quite accessible for those with limited mobility.

Most of the trail passes through forest but thirteen trestles cross the many lakes, streams, springs and bogs along the trail.
