Habitat: Open Water and Mixed Coniferous Forest.
Best Birds: A walk along the south shore of the lake will produce a diversity of warblers including Magnolia, Canada, Blackburnian and Mourning. Check the lake for various nesting ducks like Hooded Merganser.
Exploring the Parrish Hills and Highland Lakes Western segments of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail north and south of the lake will produce woodpeckers, vireos, thrushes, and a multitude of warblers.
Directions: 44 miles NE of Wausau/23.5 miles NW of Antigo on County Highway T. The parking lot (45.37585, -89.29453) for the Townline Lake wayside and the Ice Age Trail is located on County Highway T 5.2 miles west of Hwy 45 in Summit Lake.
