Demlow Lake State Fishery Area

Demlow Lake State Fishery Area, Langlade County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat: Hemlock-Hardwood Forest, Northern Hardwood Forest, and Open Water.

Best Birds: Winter Wren and Brown Creeper can be found on the path down to Demlow Lake, along with nuthatches, thrushes, and warblers. Slowly approach the canoe launch to look on the lake itself for ducks such as Common and Hooded Merganser as well as North American River Otter. Belted Kingfisher can be found on the lake year-round since the spring-fed water remains partially open in winter. 

Directions: 40 miles NE of Wausau/7.5 miles SE of Antigo off Hill Road. An entrance road to the parking lot is located at the SW corner of Hill Road (45.11802, -89.03322). The southern access parking area can be reached by following Maxwell Lake Road north from its intersection with County Highway AA to its end (45.11144, -89.03731).
