Sherry Road

Habitat: Non-Native Grasslands and Pasture, Northern Hardwood Forest, Mixed Coniferous Forest, Cedar Swamp, and Open Water

Best Birds: On Sherry Road, check the fields for Eastern Kingbird, Clay-colored Sparrow, Bobolink, and  Eastern Meadowlark. At the transition from pasture to forest, both Wild Turkey and Ruffed Grouse can be found. Birding the road to the parking area will yield thrushes, vireos, sparrows, and warblers. From the parking area walk the various ATV trails east towards Hatton Springs to find a multitude of warblers such as Northern Waterthrush, Golden-winged, Blue-winged, Blackburnian, Canada, and Orange-crowned. Check the spring for various ducks and the surrounding area for Winter Wren and Purple Finch

Directions: 49 miles NE of Wausau/14.2 miles northeast of Antigo on Sherry Road. An ATV parking lot is on Sherry Road 1.2 miles north of its intersection with State Trunk Highway 64 (45.182475, -88.911575). Hatton Springs is about 0.9 miles east of the parking area via an ATV trail.
