Chiwaukee Prairie SNA-Kenosha Dunes Unit

https://ebird.org/hotspot/L468910

Habitat: Dry Prairie (Sand dunes), Beaches, Marsh, Open Water.

Best birds: The wooded area along the trail attracts a great variety of warblers and other migrants during migration. Marsh Wren and Swamp Sparrow frequent the marsh habitat west of the dunes.

During the breeding season, Bank Swallows can often be seen nesting in the cliffs along the lakefront at the southeast corner of the dunes. Use caution walking along the eastern edge of the dunes due to erosion along Lake Michigan. Other breeding birds of the dunes are Willow Flycatcher, Eastern Kingbird, Warbling Vireo, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, Sedge Wren, and Eastern Towhee.
