Norwegian Bay Conservancy, Green Lake County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot
Habitat: Open Water on Norwegian Bay.
Best birds: The first part of the trail goes through scattered trees and junipers, then it continues as a boardwalk that extends for about ¼ mile through wetlands along the way watch for Eastern Kingbird and Swamp Sparrow. The trail terminates in a small deck on the shore of Norwegian Bay from which can be observed a nice variety of waterfowl in the spring and fall, with Trumpeter or Tundra Swan often present in December. An Osprey nest platform is present on the property.
Directions: 52 miles SW of Appleton. From Hwy. 23, take County Road T to the south and west. After about 2.4 miles, turn left (south) on Sugar Loaf Road for ½ mile, and turn left (east) on Bay Road and follow it east to near the curve. Look for the Norwegian Bay Conservancy trailhead sign there (43.811022, -89.041545) and park along the road.
