Lake Maria Road Pond, Green Lake County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot
Habitat: Open Water.
Best birds: This site is best in the spring, when waterfowl are visiting the area (duck hunters may be present in the fall), and flocks of Lapland Longspur might be spotted in the vicinity. Many of the same waterfowl species as Lake Maria may be present, but the numbers of geese can be much larger, and a variety of shorebirds might also be spotted. Uncommon or rare species have included Black-necked Stilt, American Avocet, Black-bellied Plover and Hudsonian Godwit.
Directions: 56 miles NNE of Madison. This pond near Lake Maria is worth checking, located just a couple miles away to the northeast on Lake Maria Road. Lake Maria Road runs east from Hwy. 73 (and briefly County Road U), just north of Lake Maria, and the pond is a little over a mile from there, (43.662339, -88.989507). This is private property so view only from the road, with the south and east sides being best.
