Dodge Memorial County Park and Highway K Estuary

Dodge Memorial County Park, Green Lake County, WI, US - eBird Hotspot

Habitat:  Open Water, Cattail Marsh.

Best birds:  Both sites can have a nice variety of waterfowl and gulls present during migration. Both White-winged and Black Scoter have been spotted on the lake, as well as Greater Scaup, and Horned Grebe, American White Pelican, and  Common Loon are sometimes present.  An Osprey nest platform is present on the shore of the estuary across the road, which can also be paddled.  Large rafts of ducks often gather here in the spring before the lake opens, with swans and pelicans often present also.

Directions: 54 miles SW of Appleton. From Hwy. 73 take County Road K to the east about 0.75 miles to a parking lot on the south side from which to view the estuary to the south and Green Lake to the north, (43.77682, -89.05332).  Just beyond to the east is Dodge Memorial County Park. The park has parking at a boat landing (43.77816, -89.05095).
