Best birds: Waterfowl, gulls, terns, loons and grebes. Interesting species have included Greater White-fronted Goose, Cackling Goose, Surf Scoter, and Long-tailed Duck. The adjacent wooded Hattie Sherwood Campground can be productive for passerines during spring and fall migrations, due to its proximity to the lakeshore.
Directions: 47 miles SW of Appleton. These two sites are in the western part of the city of Green Lake, along Big Green Lake (Dartford Bay). They are separated by South Lawson Drive, and there is a public parking lot (43.842154, -88.965395) between the two. Within the Hattie Sherwood campground, one can drive down to the boat launch on the Green Lake Mill Pond (43.843398, -88.967128) for a different vantage point.
