Habitat: Marsh, Open Water.

Best Birds: There is an abundance of waterfowl, including 9 nesting species, as well as migratory songbirds, and waterbirds.   Notable species include Trumpeter Swan, Red-necked Grebe, Yellow Rail, Black Tern (colony), Bald Eagle, and Yellow-headed Blackbird. Yellow Rail as well as American Bittern are best heard and located near dusk. 

Directions: 17 miles southwest of Superior. Take Hwy 35 out of Superior, then west 7.8 miles on Cty Hwy W then south on Hilpiper Road.
