Winx Flowage

Habitat:  Open Water, Sedge meadow, Northern Hardwood Forest.

Best Birds:  Several warbler species can be found along the entrance road and in the woods to the north of the flowage, including both Blue-winged and Golden-winged.  Broad-winged and Red-shouldered Hawk are also present here.  Sandhill Crane are common.   Trumpeter Swan have been present in recent years.   Walking the dike from the parking area, American Bittern, Alder Flycatcher and Sedge Wren are often present in the sedge meadow on the east side.   

Directions:  52 miles SE of Eau Claire. From Neillsville, 3 miles west on US 10, then south 1.8 miles on Clark Avenue, then 1 mile west on Maple Road/Sollberger Lane to the signed access road.
