Habitats: Open Water, Marsh, Northern Hardwood Forest. 

Best Birds: Water birds are best seen in the spring, fall, and winter. Trumpeter SwanCommon GoldeneyeCommon Merganser,  Green-winged TealLesser ScaupRing-necked Duck, Hooded Merganser, and BuffleheadPileated Woodpecker, Red-Breasted Nuthatch, and Tufted Titmouse are also regular here.

Directions: 13 miles NE of Eau Claire, in the city of Chippewa Falls. From the intersection of Scheidler Road and Pumphouse Road. Shortly after the intersection there is a boat landing on your right which often has birds. Continue on Pumphouse Road to the parking lot at the end of the road. Once parked, you can walk through the gate, walk back toward the boat landing, or view from the parking lot.

The Chippewa River lies below the overlook and is open year-round. Also, there are marsh areas, lowland woods, forests, and above the parking area tree lined bluffs.
