Rice Lake Lakeshore Drive

Habitat: Open Water, Marsh, Northern Hardwood Forest, Residential. 

Best Birds: Areas of open water should be scanned for a variety of waterbirds such as American Wigeon, Canvasback, Redhead, Common Loon, and Horned Grebe

In addition to checking the open water, a stop at FFA Park at the north end of the road can add forest and wetland birds. Visitors may encounter Sora, a variety of warblers, and Yellow-headed Blackbird.

Directions: 59 miles N of Eau Claire, in the city of Rice Lake. Lakeshore Drive follows the west shoreline of Rice Lake. Several parks along Lakeshore Drive are worth checking for land birds and vantages for water birds.
