Habitat: Mixed Coniferous Forest, Northern Hardwood Forest, Open Water.
Best Birds: Walking the entire length of the road can yield a nice variety of forest birds including Ruffed Grouse, Black-billed Cuckoo, Sharp-shinned and Broad-winged Hawk, Brown Creeper, Winter Wren, Hermit Thrush, Northern Waterthrush, Northern Parula, and Black and White, Black-throated Green, and Canada Warbler.
The more coniferous areas on the northern half of the road may produce Blue-headed Vireo, Golden-crowned Kinglet, and Magnolia and Blackburnian Warbler. White-winged Crossbill and Cape May Warbler are possible here as well.
A float trip up or down the river can yield Wood Duck, Hooded Merganser, Bald Eagle, and Spotted Sandpiper, as well as many of the forest dwelling species.
Directions: 44 miles S of Ashland/20 miles northwest of Park Falls. Kenyon Road starts at the junction with Right-of Way Road (Shanagolden Road), four miles south of Shanagolden (46.070711- 90.641008). This is a 2.5 mile long road dead-ending at an unimproved boat landing on the East Fork Chippewa River. Bird from the road only, as most of the surrounding land is privately owned.
