This year’s UnConvention, in partnership with Driftless Area Land Conservancy, will be held at Wintergreen - Wintergreen Nature Preserve - Driftless Area Land Conservancy on Saturday, October 17, 2026. This will be our fourth UnConvention. Every year we work with a partner organization to create a day of fun and informative presentations. This year we, along with our partners, will provide an overview of the amazing activities that are happening in Wisconsin related to the world of bird study, enjoyment, and conservation.

Our theme will emphasize Grassland Birds – habits and habitats. Grassland birds like meadowlarks, bobolinks, dickcissels, Henslow’s Sparrows, and Upland Sandpipers have declined steeply in North America – down 43% – since 1970 according to the U.S. Committee of the North American Bird Conservation Initiative. Join us for an early bird walk on the property, some fun socializing, and sharing information about why we love birds (especially grassland birds!).
