Birding to Change the World: A Conversation with Author and Activist Trish O’Kane
Saturday, March 28, 2026 09:30am 10:30am

The Wisconsin Society for Ornithology Executive Director, Alicia King, will moderate a discussion with Birding to Change the World author Trish O'Kane at L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library (400 Eau Claire Street, Eau Claire, WI 54701).

After Hurricane Katrina upended her life, journalist Trish O’Kane found healing in an unexpected place: the birds of Warner Park (in Madison, WI). When their habitat was threatened by development, she and her neighbors rallied to protect it — forming a powerful community of nature lovers along the way. O’Kane will reflect on birds, resilience, and the power of paying attention to the natural world. Registration is required to attend. Live streaming is available! For registration and more information, visit the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library event page.
