Ornithologists have known for a long time that bird populations are fluctuating. While some species are increasing and many others remain stable, we are most concerned about the 40% of bird species that are declining. This presentation will focus on all three groups ( the increasing species, the stable, and the declining ones) and point out the many ways that we have learned this. A major scientific paper in 2019 showed that North American bird populations alone have declined by three billion birds in the last 70 years. We'll also discuss things to help.
