Spring is here and colorful migrating birds are arriving in our parks and backyards, filling the air with their songs.  Would you like to learn more about the birds that call Wisconsin home, including some tips on how to identify them by sight and sound?

Birdwatchers of all ages are invited to join the Wisconsin Society for Ornithology (WSO) for a bird walk for beginners on Saturday, May 21st from 9:00 am – 10:30 am at the Erickson Conservation Area in Argyle.

Join Regional Coordinators Rebecca Gilman and Charles Harmon for a leisurely morning bird walk in this beautiful natural area as we look for waterfowl, wading birds, and songbirds.  Some of the species we hope to see are American White Pelicans, Wood Ducks, Sandhill Cranes, and migrating warblers.

Bring good walking shoes, water, and binoculars if you have them.  The trails at Erickson are well groomed, but there can be wet spots and there are narrow boardwalks that are not ADA accessible.  We'll walk approximately 2.5 miles but participants may choose to leave the walk at any time.

Weather: Rain or shine (unless lightining).

Meet at the Erickson kiosk on the far western side of the parking lot for the Argyle Legion Community Park.

Trip registration opens on May 8th
This event is free and open to WSO members and non-members alike. Further details about trip logistics will be sent to registrants prior to each field trip after completing the Covid screening questions.
