This trip will start very early so attendees can experience the early dawn chorus of owls, American Bitterns. Wilson's Snipe, American Woodcock, rails, cranes, etc. as the marsh awakens. The group will be doing some hiking for a while (on level, gravel roadway), and then we'll travel by car caravan to other nearby sites. Time permitting, other destinations may include Lake Puckaway, Portions of Grand River Marsh Wildlife Area, and Lane Maria County Park.
Trip registration opens on April 1.
Initially this event will be open only to WSO members and our field trips are free for members. Non-members are able to sign up within 14 days of the trip for a nominal fee of $10 per adult if spots remain open on trips with attendance limits. Further details about trip logistics will be sent to registrants prior to each field trip.
