Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at Riveredge Nature Center. Pre-Meeting Bird Hikes: At 6 p.m. from May through September Mary Holleback, RNC’s adult programs manager, leads a hike across a variety of habitats preceding the program.

A BioBlitz brings together scientists in a race against time to see how many species they can count on a property in a 24-hour biological survey. The Milwaukee Public Museum's BioBlitz program, now in its 5th year, is an annual event that is part contest, part festival, part educational event, and part scientific endeavor designed to increase the public’s awareness of the variety of living things in their neighborhood and the services these various species provide to improve the quality of life.

The 2019 MPM BioBlitz was held at Riveredge Nature Center on June 15 and Dr. Ellen Censky, interim president and CEO at MPM, will present some of the survey's findings as well highlight how bringing together experts from many taxonomic disciplines, for a short amount of time, can rapidly gather information and help conservationists and resource managers decide on future actions or management decisions.

(This is the first of two NJCBC programs this year that will be part of the “Science for Everyone” series staged annually by Riveredge, Lac Lawrann Conservancy and the UWM Field Station.)

The Riveredge Bird Club held its first meeting in March 1986 so this year we will celebrate our 33rd anniversary. The club, renamed in honor of its founder in 2014, brings together those who enjoy observing and learning more about birds and sharing these interests with others.
All activities are free and open to the public. Attend a meeting to become a member and receive our bimonthly e- newsletter, The Timberdoodle News, edited by Dani Baumann, who welcomes contributions.
