Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at Riveredge Nature Center.  Pre-Meeting Bird Hikes: At 6 p.m. from May through September Mary Holleback, RNC’s adult programs manager, leads a hike across a variety of habitats preceding the program.

From lagoons and marshes to forests and prairies, the natural areas under Milwaukee County Parks stewardship are vital to the environmental health of the region. The parks’ Natural Areas staff manages more than 10,000 acres of land, including nine beaches along the shores of Lake Michigan. We’ll hear from Brian Russart, natural areas coordinator for the Milwaukee County Department of Parks, Recreation & Culture, how his team has become one of the state leaders in bird conservation. Learn all about on-going habitat restoration projects and bird research within the parks’ natural areas. With 140 eBird "Hotspots" and 246 bird species confirmed by staff over the last 6-years, the Park System has become one of the state's premier birding destinations.

The Riveredge Bird Club held its first meeting in March 1986 so this year we will celebrate our 33rd anniversary. The club, renamed in honor of its founder in 2014, brings together those who enjoy observing and learning more about birds and sharing these interests with others.
All activities are free and open to the public. Attend a meeting to become a member and receive our bimonthly e- newsletter, The Timberdoodle News, edited by Dani Baumann, who welcomes contributions.
