IBAs: Advancing Bird Conservation in Wisconsin
Tuesday, November 02, 2021 07:00pm 08:30pm

Join the Noel J. Cutright Birding Club at Riveredge Nature Center for this online presentation.

Important Bird Areas (IBAs) are sites that provide essential habitat for birds, including species that are threatened, endangered or vulnerable. The Wisconsin Bird Conservation Partnership is in the first stage of a comprehensive IBA assessment to determine which of Wisconsin’s 93 IBAs hold the greatest potential for long-term bird conservation. WBCP hired Tom Prestby as its IBA assessment specialist. Prestby is an environmental scientist with GEI Consultants in Green Bay and a major contributor to recently completed field work for the second Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas. Tom will fill us in on his work and plans for building strong local partnerships for the highest priority IBAs.

Bird Club takes place virtually and is free to all to attend.
