This field trip has 2 possible dates 3/25/23 or 4/1/23 depending on weather conditons. Our group will tour by car caravan to several ponds and flooded fields in this very productive area. A wide variety of waterfowl (ducks, swans, Greater White-fronted, Cackling and Ross’s Geese), early shorebirds, and migrant passerines – including American Pipit and Lapland Longspur. Our trip typically ends around noon after birding the causeway (CTH V) on Lake Wisconsin, and we make take a hike at Rowan Creek Fishery Area. Bring a bag lunch.
Trip registration opens on February 25, 2023.
Initially this event will be open only to WSO members and our field trips are free for members. Non-members are able to sign up within 14 days of the trip for a nominal fee of $10 per adult if spots remain open on trips with attendance limits. Further details about trip logistics will be sent to registrants prior to each field trip.
