Dodge County - Horicon Marsh Night Atlasing
Thursday, April 26, 2018 07:00pm 09:00pm

Join the Horicon Marsh Birdclub as they lead a night hike on the Horicon Marsh Federal Refuge listening for owls, rails, bitterns, and other marshbirds. Hopefully we will see the display flights of the American Woodcock and Wilson's Snipe. This is an excellent way to learn how to collect nocturnal data for Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas II and unique way to explore the Horicon Marsh. Special permission was granted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for this nocturnal hike since the trails close at sundown. Meet at 7 p.m. at the Horicon Marsh Wildlife Refuge Office off of Highway Z. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to experience the Horicon Marsh Federal Refuge after dark. Bring a flashlight.

When: 7 to 9 p.m. April 26
Where: Horicon National Wildlife Refuge Office and Visitor Center, W4279 Headquarters Road, Mayville, WI 53050
