Atlasing Adams County - Quincy Bluff State Natural Area
Saturday, July 16, 2016 06:30am 12:00pm

Saturday, July 15 – Atlasing a Priority Block at Quincy Bluff State Natural Area (Adams SW block – Adams County)

This field trip will provide participants with an opportunity to learn about atlas procedures while covering this unique natural area. We plan to meet at 6:30 AM at the Quincy Bluff North Parking Lot (14th Drive, just north of Dyke Dr. Lat 43.9069 Lon -89.8478 ). We will car pool from there to our trailhead access area on 14th avenue. We are planning a 4.5 mile fairly level, looped hike on trails and dikes in woodlands, amongst wetlands and barrens. The trip will last about 5 hours. Jon Robaidek, DNR Central Sands Field Ecologist will be our guide. With the variety of habitats, the suite of birds should be extensive. The nearest bathroom facilities are in Adams. We are asking folks to email ahead of time if they are attending so we can be better prepared. Please contact Adams County Atlas II Coordinator Marty Evanson in advance for more information at 608-514-4251 or at mtevanson@gmail.com
