Green Bay: Fall Warblers
Saturday, September 10, 2016 07:00am

Come learn the tricks to fall warbler and shorebird ID. We will bird the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary and then the Cat Island Wave Barrier, which is otherwise closed to the public. There is potential to see more than 20 warbler species, including Cape May, Bay-breasted, Black-throated Blue, Canada and Wilson's at Bay Beach. The Cat Island Wave Barrier offers potential to see more than 10 shorebird species including some uncommon species as well as several species of gulls, terns, and waterfowl. Participants will have a rare opportunity to explore and learn about this exciting restoration project. This portion of the trip will involve a walk of 2-3 miles round-trip so bring walking shoes, water, snacks, and sunscreen.

Meet: 7:00 am at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary parking lot. Take exit 187 off I-43 (Webster Ave.) to East Shore Drive. 10:00 am at Park and Ride on east side of US-41 and Lineville Road. We will depart for Cat Island around 10:15. Click for map.
